Lighting for less with Luxo lamps...or, Luxo Love

I have a small, awkward little room that, after living in this house for 20 years, I am finally getting around to furnishing. The room is a small square (sorta square, 16ft X 13ft), has a slider on one side, an entrance on the opposite wall, a fire place flanked by bookcases and one blank wall. I am looking for two petite lounge chairs to go on either side of the fireplace. My workspace is on the one blank wall. Because this room has a closed off roof with no access, we've been unable to put in ceiling lights, and for a variety of reasons to tedious to relay here, we don't want to open/cut into the walls. My solution has been to clamp on a whole bunch o' Luxo lamps from Charette in Woburn. My Luxo's are not the same as the one used in the Pixar promos, but they're still rather cool and can take a 100W bulb.

Here's the Luxo LS1A(mine are black):

For your perusal, images of some Luxo and other similar lamps, used in a variety of poses and places. Borrowed from the following blogs: Apartment Therapy, Desire to Inspire, Shelter Interior Design, and Remodelista...beautiful blogs, really.
