I can't believe I didn't check the bible of boxing records, BoxRec on Mickey Rourke today, but they have quite a bio on Mickey's boxing career. What's with Mickey's nasty stepfather? Couldn't say a nice word about the kid or the man...no wonder Mickey's best friend is/was a dog. His ring name was El Marielito.
Mickey wrote and starred in a movie about a boxer in 1988, Homeboy:
